Feldberg & Doss chase Lundmark
Going in today’s third round of the Scandinavian Open in Skelleftea Sweden, it looks to be a three man race for the European major title. First round leader, Jesper Lundmark played another solid round of golf on his home course to card a -8 on the day to put him at -19 for the tournament and two strokes clear of second place. Dave Feldberg started the day three strokes off the lead but he couldn’t get things going early on and he dropped three more strokes to the leader on just the first two holes. Feldberg, then six off the lead, kept a positive attitude and battled back with a very impressive -9 on the round assisted by a remarkable run of six consecutive birdies on the back nine. Despite a bogey 7 on the par 6 starting hole, Nate Doss carded the best round of the day with a -10 to move him to the lead group. The two time and current world champion sits at -15 for the tournament, two throws off second and four off the lead. Look for Lunmardk, Feldberg and Doss to battle it out today in what should be a very exciting third round.

Val Jenkins leads by three after two rounds at the Scandinavian Open
In the women’s division, Val Jenkins carded a +5 on the day to maintain a three stroke lead over Birgitta Lagerholm. Lagerholm, playing in a PDGA major event in her home country for the first time, had the hot round of the day carding a very impressive +1 to put her within striking distance of the lead. Ragna Bygde sits in third three strokes off second and six off the lead.
In the Masters division, Jonas Lindholm shot a -2 on the day for a tournament total of -6 to extend his lead to 3 throws over Peter Bygde who came in at even par. Kari Vesala and Dan Johansson will round out the lead group.
The number of spectators has been very impressive thus far with even bigger crowds expected on the weekend. Wind and rain is forecast for today’s third round so it could come down to survival of the fittest in terms of competition. Sunny skies are expected for Sunday’s final round.
